Trabant Trek Charity Team Staying on Course with Satellite Navigation
A handful of enthusiastic young people have decided to set out on a "caravan of goodwill," starting out in Germany and traversing among other countries Hungary, to ultimately arrive in Cambodia. They collect donations throughout their journey, to benefit Cambodian children. To guide them during the European stretch of their voyage, the group relies on HTC P3300 Artemis PDAs and iGO My way software for navigation help.
Preparations for the journey, which will cover two continents, were started by eight young people: one from Hungary, four from the United States, two from the United Kingdom and one from Spain. Some of them had done volunteer work in Cambodia before, where the number of children living on the streets is exceptionally high, due to the recently ended dictatorship. Their personal experiences served as the motivation to take aid work a step further – hence the idea for the goodwill caravan. They will cover the distance between Germany and Cambodia, some 25 thousand kilometres, with three Trabant automobiles. On the way, they will visit several charity organizations, and will participate in events organized by these.
Nav N Go Kft. is also contributing to the good cause – in addition to offering software to support the journey, it is also sending donations to the needy.

The caravan is also supported by Nav N Go Kft. and the RRC Hungary Kft. DiFo group. Each Trabant will be outfitted with an HTC P3300 Artemis handheld unit, equipped with iGO My way Europe GPS navigation software, as well as a notebook computer. This will provide valuable navigation support to the team as far as Turkey.

"Nav N Go Kft. is always looking for areas where GPS navigation can be of service. Our support for ambulance and fire services goes back a long ways; and we are also happy to participate in charity initiatives like the Trabant Trek. We are certain that the iGO My way Europe software developed by the company will greatly simplify navigation tasks for all participants of the team," said Leon van de Pas, Managing Director of Nav N Go Kft.

"RRC Hungary’s DiFo group is always eager to support generous initiatives like the Trabant Trek. It is our hope that the HTC Artemis P3300 units we donated will be of superb service as they accompany these young people on an exciting journey. The Artemis is a combination of telephone, PDA and digital camera; and with the support provided by Nav N Go Kft., the iGO My way navigation software makes staying in touch and staying on the right course easier," said Norbert Sárdi, head of the DiFo group.

The Trabant Trek embarks on their long journey July 30. As supporters of the trip, both companies wish them success in their quest to collect donations.
