3D Navigation to Support Budapest Ambulances
The latest donation in the charity program called "Navigation for the Emergency Services" is 10 navigation devices for the Hungarian National Ambulance Service, donated jointly by Nav N Go Kft. and NAVON Kft. The devices and software will support ambulances operating out of stations in Budapest. The main aim of the gift is to replace the navigation devices that were recently stolen from two ambulances.
Ambulances equipped with the most up-to-date navigation
With this donation, "Navigation for the Emergency Services" reaches yet another part of the country. The charity program has previously supported ambulance services in the Hungarian counties of Győr-Moson-Sopron, Komárom-Esztergom and Veszprém, as well as the city of Orosháza, and now the most up-to-date navigation systems are operating in the capital city ambulances. The Budapest Ambulance Service has already used GPS navigation before, but in the last two weeks, two ambulances were broken into, and the navigation devices were stolen.

When Nav N Go Kft. and Navon Kft. heard the news, the companies decided to replace the stolen devices as soon as possible, and to donate a further 8 NAVON wide-screen navigation devices with 8 sets of Nav N Go software, worth half a million Hungarian forints in total. This means that even more ambulances will benefit from using satellite navigation. In an emergency the digital navigator finds the quickest route to any address, right down to the house number; and thanks to the special "Emergency Vehicle" option that is available in the NAVON N450 navigation devices, the program can find the shortest route that exists to the destination, over-ruling the normal traffic restrictions.

"We still don't have a navigation system in every ambulance,” said Dr. Zsigmond Göndöcs, the director of the Hungarian National Ambulance Service, "but the ones we have received so far, mostly from donations, have been very useful in many situations. That's why we lost more than just the value of the devices when they were stolen. The social responsibility of Nav N Go Kft. and NAVON Kft. is proved by their immediate response to our problem, and by their donation of ten devices.”

"Nav N Go Kft. has already donated navigation devices to support the work of the ambulance services several times before, so you could describe this donation as continuing a tradition” said András Fazakas, Nav N Go's Chief Operating Officer. "It is a tremendous pleasure for us that these ten devices will help the Budapest ambulance services to reach their destinations in time, because being in time can often save lives.

This is the first time that the ambulance drivers have been able to try out the advantages of Nav N Go iGO 8 software, which was developed by Hungarians and is in 3 dimensions. This means that in addition to showing the route precisely, with a voice giving directions, the navigation device also helps drivers find their way around with lifelike 3D images of the surrounding buildings and landmarks.

Life-saving navigation in the whole country!
The charity program doesn't end here. The aim is to have satellite navigation devices in every emergency vehicle in the country as soon as possible. To help achieve this aim, the organizations taking part in the charity program have set up a website: http://navigacio.info.hu, where you can read more details about the program, and find out how you can help.
