Transportation and state-of-the-art navigation technology are now closer than ever. Nothing proves this relationship more than the extensive professional interest in the Transportation and Geographic Information Systems Professional Day. Tele Atlas and NAVTEQ, the two largest cartographic companies in the world, were also present. Transportation and cartography professionals also gave lectures. Emergency services, namely ambulance and fire brigades, were also among the invited participants.

Ottó Nyirő, manager of the map content group and Zoltán Mohos, head consultant, gave an introduction to the software solutions of Nav N Go. They introduced the now two-year-old company, which quickly became established as a dominant player in the navigation market thanks to its iGo My way GPS navigation software. The public exhibited keen interest in the new features ofiGO My way 8, a three dimensional navigation software, to be released soon. In a spectacular demonstration, the audience learned about every feature of the spatial digital map, including buildings, elevated roads, terrain features and even the topographic elements.

Because of the presentation’s success, Nav N Go will attend further venues of the event. The next transportation and geographic information system conference will probably be organised before the end of the year.
