Nav N Go reaps renewed success at CeBIT
At this year’s CeBIT, Nav N Go fascinated the navigation market, as well as the visitors to its exhibit. At the company’s huge stand set up in pavilion 14, anyone interested could test their new 3D navigational software, the Nav N Go iGO 8. In addition, the company announced some of its new business partnerships at the Hannover fair. Nav N Go iGO 8 is coming in April
At last week’s CeBIT, Nav N Go announced that in April it will place the SD memory card version of its 3D navigational software solution, the Nav N Go iGO 8, on the market. The new product contains high-resolution, three-dimensional navigational maps showing relief elements, roads rising up from the plane, orientation points and buildings, enabling door to door navigation in 42 countries of Europe. Besides navigation, the Nav N Go iGO 8 provides a varied multimedia experience with its built-in music and video player and road guides.
Besides the market release of a solution intended for consumers, the Hungarian software developer is also focusing on its OEM marketing. Nav N Go had already formed strategically important partnerships with such global companies as Harman Kardon, LG Electronics, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, QNX Software Systems, Asus Computer GmbH, Clarion Europe GmbH and Pioneer Europe NV. At this year’s CeBIT, they announced their collaboration with QNX, Gomite and Asus.
“Our 3D navigational solution reaped success beyond expectations, and the announcement of collaboration with several important partners also received great attention, although the details will only be made public after the contracts are finalised. The negotiations begun at this year’s CeBIT can also be said to be very fruitful, and so without exaggeration I can say that we had one of our most successful exhibitions” – said András Fazakas, Nav N Go’s Operations Manager.
Nav N Go navigation in a new operating system
At CeBIT, the Hungarian software developer also announced that it had formed a strategically important partnership with the decades-old Canadian QNX Software Systems. The collaboration of the two companies could be extremely fruitful, since by utilising each other’s strengths, on the one hand the enhanced 3D navigational software solution of Nav N Go and on the other the real-time operating system of QNX, the manufacture of a high-level, new-generation navigational system will become cost-effective. With the combination of the Nav N Go navigational software and the QNX operating system, consumers can easily improve the performance of their personal navigation devices. The joint solution offers end users a choice rich in possibilities in the area of map display and map fitting, control buttons, as well as MP3 and other digital media.
Bestowed by a jury of independent experts, Nav N Go also won several major prizes at CeBIT, including “Best Navigational Software” and “2008 Innovation of the Year”.
